About the Ibanez TS808HW Hand Wired Tube Screamer Overdrive Pedal
The TS808HW pedal delivers that warm natural overdrive sound previously unattainable by conventional units. The TS808HW is limited in production and is completely hand-wired on turret boards with true bypass switching. The zinc die cast construction and rugged rubber stopper assure durability and includes an LED indicator to show the status of the effect and the condition of the battery, which when necessary, can be changed without tools. Operates on a 9V battery or optional power supply.

I'm an advanced player(25 yrs. exp.), w/ a Fender Custom Shop Strat w/ fat 50's pickups w/ '69 bridge through a Fender Super Reverb reissue stock.I have the Ibanez TS9DX in the same effects chain as this TS808HW and the TS808HW sounds clearer, more transparent, the highs are a little crispier, and lows are less muddy. Has less mids and sounds a litte smoother. Definitey a better tone, about 10-12% better sounding tone. Still, I like the TS9DX and will never get rid of it because I like having the 2 totally different chips in both of them. Although I read in a pro review that a vintage TS808 which sometimes sell as high as $600-1000, sounds a little better even.Barely worth the money unless you are very picky about tone and an advanced player.
