As experience bass player, for a starter bass or a bass to use for teaching beginners, its very nice. Its a bit large for child but can work for an adult comfortable. The sound quality is good with or without an amp. There is some fret noise and it might a bit irritating but overall you can work around those issues. The construction quality is very nice. For the money its the best buy for getting into an acoustic bass and not have to travel with an amp.
